Washington DC

We left NY early on the 17th of March and headed down to Fort Lee, VA. We have some very good friends stationed there so we decided to take part of our travel time/vacation and go see them. It was so nice to sit around after dinner and catch up on what has been going on with all of us. Fort Lee is only about a 3hr drive from Washington DC so Thursday morning we got up and Vicki (our friend) took us to "see the sights". We were so lucky to have a beautiful sunny day that day. We walked to each end of the mall and saw the Washington Monument, Korean War Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, World War II Memorial, the Capital (from a distance) and also the Smithsonian Museum. It was such a great day and I was very proud of Andrew for walking the entire time without complaining (we walked about 5 or 6 miles).

Another family picture in the "cool tree" we found. It was so bright so we couldn't get one with Andrew not squinting.

The best shot I could get of the World War II Memorial. It was soo big I couldn't fit it all in

Vietnam Memorial:
Of all of the memorials this was one of the most overwhelming. It is hard to take in all of those names.

These are just a few of the ones I took while we were in Washington DC. I decided not to overwhelm everyone with all of the ones I have :-)
My next blog will be about our time with family in Arkansas. I will probably have to divide it into 2 blogs but we will see

Love the DC pictures. I love it there. There is SO MUCH to do and see. The family pictures are great. We will definitely see you next time your here. How's the hotel? My family had to live in one for about a month once. It got a little cramped with five of us. Hang in there, not much longer. Love ya.
