(un) Happy Easter

Where do I begin. Andrew has been sick with a low fever since Friday night. Of course this hasn't slowed him down at all, but still as a mom you are a little concerned. We were planning on having some friends over for Easter lunch and to hunt eggs, but with Andrew being "iffy" it was left up in the air until this morning to see how he was feeling. Last night I had high hopes that he would be ok. The Motrin I had been giving him seemed to be working so with that in mind I got everything ready for Easter morning once he was asleep. I put the jelly beans in the eggs and then prepared Andrew's basket and set it out for him to find this morning. Well about 30min after I went upstairs for bed our dog decided to come on up. I didn't think much about this until I realized he wasn't laying down. He was just sitting there looking at me all guilty. (you see where this is going don't you) Knowing that he ALWAYS tells on himself I got up to see what damage had been done. I assumed he got into the trash or something like that. OH NO!! That would have been too easy. This dog (I'm refusing to use his name because I am still angry at him) had pulled everything out of Andrew's Easter basket and ate every last piece of candy. I'm talking the chocolate bunny, gum, an entire bag of jelly beans and 5 or 6 peanut butter cup eggs. Seriously?!?! I think for the first time in my life I was at a loss for words. So after a little break down on my part I cleaned up the mess and salvaged what I could. Thank goodness I always get some little toys and my parents had sent a singing bunny! Fast forward to about 2am this morning. I wake up to something burning my arm. I realize the burning is coming from Andrew's arm which is laying across me. Yep, you've got it, his fever spiked. I took his temp and it was.....you ready......104.3! Wow, I was honestly shocked by this number. I immediately woke him up to take more medicine and hoped that would do the trick. From that point on I was up at least once an hour checking on him to make sure the fever was going down. It stayed slightly above 101 most of the morning and finally got close to normal a few hours ago. Needless to say our friends did not come over today. I agreed to let him go hunt Easter eggs once his fever was close to normal even though it was sooo cold and windy outside. So that was our Easter. Don't you wish your's was as good.. HA HA...

checking out the goods (thankfully he didn't notice there wasn't any candy)

you can't tell he has a fever here, but it was still over 101

watching the bunny sing and dance

he really likes the singing bunny

cheese!!

All things considered we've had a good day. Hopefully Andrew will get to feeling better soon. I hope everyone had a great Easter!!!

Madame Zaritska's prediction was.....................

WRONG!! Well at least so far it was. She predicted we were going to have a boy and yesterday at my ultrasound I learned we are having a.......... GIRL!! That's right Andrew is going to have a baby sister. This is actually very good news in this house since he has been saying it was a girl for months now. I really had no desire to argue with him if I found out we were having another boy. He got pretty angry about it when the subject of a 2nd boy was brought up. Kids are too funny! So now that we know it's time to shop!! Of course there's also the daunting task of picking a name for her. With Andrew, Adam and I argued up until a week or 2 before he was born (we don't agree on any names). Maybe this time we will find one a little faster, I doubt it though.

Interesting

Ok I found a link to this on someone elses blog and since I am having my ultrasound tomorrow I thought it would be fun to try. Guess we'll have to wait and see how accurate it is.
Madame Zaritska, using her mystical powers, has the following prediction:The day you deliver, outside will be rainy. Your baby will arrive in the late morning. After a labor lasting approximately 12 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and will be 18 inches long. This child will have medium hazel eyes and a little patch of brown hair.
Here's the website if you want to try it out. Check back tomorrow to see if she at least got the sex right.
